Did you know Canthaxanthin is a red-purplish carotenoid pigment, thermostable and lipophilic, which builds up in the body’s fatty tissue (epidermis, adipose tissue, central nervous system, etc.).
Fish can only obtain canthaxanthin through diet. In the body of fish, astaxanthin has a powerful anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory action, also contributing to the intensification of their red colours (accumulation of red cells in the derma).
